Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight 5 Announcement

Posted on 30 November 2023 By Graham No Comments on Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight 5 Announcement

For Brandon Sanderson fans we have had some good/bad news. December 2023 was Brandon’s deadline for completing Stormlight 5 and at Dragonsteel (November 23) he let us know that this deadline will be met…. But, we won’t be getting the book until the end of Dragonsteel 2024, so December 7th, 2024 is the release date. More than a year. Nooooooo!

I was hoping this would come a lot sooner, I suppose it gives me time to get a load of other books read given the sheer size of my TBR pile. So, for me, this means I am going to plan a re-read of the Stormlight books in time for the new one being released, it’s a massive undertaking getting through these books, although very enjoyable. Although, it takes time out of reading new books. The Stormlight series is fantastic and each book is big so it will take a while to get through them. Hopefully, this will mean the wait for book 5 won’t seem so bad. Then when it does come out I will be relatively refreshed on the story and what has happened so far, as my memory is terrible.

As you can see from the pictures he gets his money’s worth from me as I get the hardbacks and the paperbacks, as I generally don’t like reading the hardbacks (I like to keep them nice and fresh) But by the time the new one drops I will no doubt not want to wait another 6 months to a year for the paperback. we shall see.

I suppose we should all be grateful that Brandon gets through books as fast as he does. We are still waiting 12 years for Winds of Winter and longer than that for the third book in Pat Rothfuss’s Kingkiller series.

I hope you are reading something nice.
